Pets and Animal Rescue Info

Our Lost Dog Teddy
On October 5, 2009 we lost our beloved pet of 16 years.  'Teddy' decided to go for one last walk - without us. We all miss him VERY much - Thank you Teddy - we LOVE you. He was a very special member of our family.

It's in honour and tribute to one of the best friends I ever had, Teddy,  - that I offer this page of information for pets lost, found, missing, etc.

This site is also about helping find or rescue other pets from a terrible fate.

April 13, 2010 we adopted 'Mika' from the Prairie Dog Canine Rescue.  We met Mika at a Dogs in the Park day.  She chose us as her new family and well, she's so cute how could we Ever say no to a face like this!  She absolutely loves it here!  Check out that smile :)

Who do you call - What do you do etc. Here's the information I can share with you:

Where do you begin?  Here's the most usual contact numbers for pets.  If you have lost a pet or found a pet - the Animal Shelter and Humane Society are the best places to begin.  If your pet has a city license tag or other particular tags, collar, etc. be sure to provide all the detailed information you can.  DON'T JUST CALL the Animal Shelter.  Go there and check for yourself.  Some agencies have a policy of putting down unclaimed animals in a very short amount of time - How DISTURBING!

Teddy

You know - this little dog had more character than any pet I've ever known.  There's oh so many stories and memories.  Reminds me of a time years back, I did a service call at a cowboy poet's home.  You just knew how he loved his dog.  He told me that dog was so smart, he went and rented the movie 'Lassie' for the pair of them to watch.  After sitting side by each all night just watching the movie, he says to his dog "Pretty good movie heh?" and the dog repiled "I think the book was better!".  That's character.
